Concern for Christians in the Sudan

December 6, 2010

In early December, 2010, the WRF received a prayer request from Patrick Jok Ding, of our members living in the Sudan.  That request is immediately below

In response to our sharing this request with the WRF membership, we received the communication at the bottom below from another of our members, John Brand, who lives and ministers in Scotland.

We are posting both of these communications here on the WRF website in order to encourage all Christians around the world to be in fervent prayer for the matters mentioned.  If any WRF member who reads this material has additional information that should be posted, please send it to samueltlogan@aol.com and, as possible and appropriate, it will be posted here.

Communication from Patrick Jok Ding in the Sudan

Dear Dr. Sam Logan:

Greeting in the Lord's Name!

The Sudanese Churches, including the Sudanese Reformed Church, celebrated the day before yesterday a National Day of Prayer and Fasting. It was a launching day for forty days of prayer and fasting for a peaceful referendum. I am blessed that I am a part of the organizing committee of this national day. We were joined by pastors from USA, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana and Uganda. We were encouraged by their solidarity with us at this critical and difficult time in Sudanese history. The President of Government of Southern Sudan and some of his ministers joined us in this prayer.

I am e-mailing you this to request the members of World Reformed Fellowship to join us in prayer during these forty days for a peaceful referendum in Sudan.

Be blessed in his service

Communication from John Brand in Scotland

Dear Sam:

Greetings to you and thanks for this great info.  One of my ministries is running Friends of Sudan and we are busy engaging people in prayer for this referendum.  We recently had a visit from one of the AIC leaders and you can see a video interview here and Evangelicals Now carried and interview with him as well.  We are sending out regular prayer updates in the run up to the referendum and if anyone wants to receive them they can email me at info@friendsofsudan.net.  We also have a Facebook page.

Every blessing

John
