Hidalgo 'Ban' Garcia, Spiritual Growth Director of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), Indonesia, and a member of the WRF, collapsed while leading the UPH Sunday Chapel on the 19th of December 2010. He then underwent an emergency brain surgery for ruptured aneurysm in nearby Siloam Hospital. He has been unconscious, but not in deep coma, since then and remains in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.
Thank God that in the past couple of days there has been signs of progress with hand, eye, and toe movements. The big concern now is severe infection which is being treated by a combination of antibiotics. Quite a challenge considering that it was found out that Ban is allergic to many antibiotics so please pray that his body will be strong enough to take on the medications and the infections treated accordingly.
By the grace of God, the family is strengthened and sustained during this difficult time by the overwhelming support, help, and prayer of countless people everywhere. They are ever grateful to God's goodness and faithfulness.
