Prayer Request for WRF Member Hidalgo "Ban" Garvia

June 1, 2011

The prayer request below was submitted by WRF member Phil.  Phil may be contacted at phil@asianconnect.org .

Hidalgo 'Ban' Garcia, Spiritual Growth Director of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), Indonesia, collapsed while leading the UPH Sunday Chapel  on the 19th of December 2010.  He then underwent multiple brain surgeries for ruptured aneurysm and infections.  Ban has been in Siloam Hospital for five months and he is still fighting! The team of neurosurgeons' visit this morning indicated the presence of  infection in his lungs and the area where the feeding tube was inserted in his tummy a couple of weeks ago.  The challenge is finding the right antibiotics to kill resistant bacteria, especially since Ban was found to be allergic to numerous antibiotics even while in the ICU.  Please pray for healing with the medications being given him at this time.

Each day and week is different.  A good day is one where Ban's eyes would be open most of the time during daytime; his blood pressure is within the normal range; no fever (so various therapies could be done on him); he coughs on his own with desired results; he doesn't need oxygen;  he is able to digest the milk he is given and not vomit; and his face is one of serenity and deep inner peace.
