Rev. Robert Benn entered into the ministry of the Australian Presbyterian Church in 1965. He (and his wife Laurel) then served in the Christian Education Department of two Indonesian Reformed Churches over a period of 10 years via the Overseas Missionary Fellowship. Their 3 children were born in Indonesia.
Returning to Australia, Robert continued to minister in 2 pastoral charges. He was then appointed the P.C. Australia’s National Director of World Mission for 10 years, where he was involved in commissioning some 150 missionaries to their respective areas of service in about 25 different countries.
During the past two decades, Robert has served both as State Moderator and Moderator General of the PCA; has chaired the National Journal Committee of the PCA and the Theological Education Committee of the Presbyterian Church in New South Wales; has ministered with the Presbyterian Inland Mission and Presbyterian Social Services; has led the team in developing a strong partnership with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of East Timor which has risen out of the ashes of the rape of their country at the end of the 20th century; and presently convenes the PCA’s Committee on Relations With Other Churches.
Robert and Laurel’s children (and families) are participating in world mission serving in Mongolia and Africa.
